1932 Packard Deluxe Eight Sport Phaeton
Thursday December 22, 2016
Join Heacock Classic and 300 of the finest examples of California Car Culture at the beautiful Benedict Castle in Riverside, CA. From Full Classics to Hot Rods and Low-Riders to Antiques, there is something for everyone at the Castle on March 27 and 28.
The entire event supports the Southern California Teen Challenge program, which is the oldest, largest, and most successful addiction recovery program in the world. Benedict Castle is their home, and the setting for over one hundred films, including Hunchback of Notre Dame, Bride of Frankenstein, 1948’s Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein and 1965’s Two On a Guillotine. The terraced Castle grounds make an elegant setting to display the cars on Saturday, with delightful music and fine cuisine available onsite.
Friday evening kicks off with an event not to miss. Join Heacock Classic Insurance in the Castle courtyard to honor one of the legends of the car hobby. Get a chance to meet the man behind the name Isky the “Camfather”. Ed Iskenderian was instrumental in the creation of SEMA and served as the organization’s first president. He has been inducted as a member of Chevrolet’s “Legends of Performance”, an honorary group of “Men whose visions, skill and perseverance have reshaped the automobile into something more than just transportation”. The event includes a reception with appetizers followed by dinner and a live band. While you’re eating, enjoy presentations by industry luminaries honoring Ed’s career.
Saturday morning, Heacock Classic provides the morning coffee and pastries as the Concours vehicles roll onto the Castle grounds. Plan on spending the day, as the food and entertainment are over the top. You’ll be able to also enjoy a fashion show, tour the Castle, and meet TV Host Barry Meguiar and the voice of the NHRA, Dave McClelland. Our favorite customizer, George Barris, will be there with one of his ground-breaking creations as well. Enjoy all the action, knowing that every dime goes to support the Teen Challenge program.
